The Spaghetti Tree was a warning.

Back in 1957, BBC pulled an April Fools Day prank of epic proportions. It’s all about where spaghetti comes from, and…

… well, you just have to see it for yourselves.

You would think any sane person would realize this was a joke.

Yes, you would think that the idea of a spaghetti tree would be ridiculous to just about anyone with half a working brain.

Alas, this was not the case. Hundreds of people fell for it, believing that spaghetti does grow on trees for us to harvest and eat.

Now, if such a prank – done on April Fools Day, primarily for humor – would cause a horde of people to believe in its story, what more when it comes to stories not meant to be pranks but actually meant to be propaganda and deliberately mislead people?

And this is why we have fake news nowadays and why we are where we politically and socially around the globe. This is why we have idiots still believing the earth is flat. This is why there are anti-vaxxers out there as well as climate change deniers.

The gullible are crushing the world.

We should’ve realized that the Spaghetti Tree was a warning.
