Wonder Countdown: five days to go in the Philippines!

As we prepare for the arrival of the Wonder Woman film, let’s listen to the thoughts of the folks behind this movie that’s over seven decades overdue.

Patty Jenkins, who is poised to take us all by storm with her film based on overwhelmingly positive early reviews, took over when prior director Michelle MacLaren dropped out. Having a woman at the helm of this film is important, and Patty has the distinction of being the first woman to direct a female-led superhero movie. With the buzz largely positive, I’m almost sure Marvel regrets letting her go from doing Thor: Ragnarok.

We also have several producers who supported the film, including Charles Roven and Richard Suckle who both had a lot to say about the project.

Then there are the Snyders, Deborah and Zach – the architects behind the entire DC Extended Universe. Very recently, they were on the news when Zach announced he would pull out of Justice League (leaving it in the hands of Joss Whedon, whom DC recently snatched back to helm Batgirl) because of a personal family tragedy, the death of their daughter. That said, their excellent contributions to the DCEU – including Wonder Woman – cannot be overstated, despite all the naysayers. Zach, in particular, has had a hand on Wonder Woman even before Patty came on board, and the handprints on this film are also partly his.

As the film arrives, let’s not forget to thank and appreciate these folks behind the scenes who truly helped make it all possible!
