A coffin, a casket

A little girl’s basket

One cannot breathe, one can flee

Blind is the man who cannot see

Art he is, and purple, too

Yet logic he chooses

Gray and not blue

And quickly he turns blue

In his vertical box of airless life

Instead of a lover

He chooses a wife.

Circa mid-1990’s

Formerly titled: “Purple Lives”
