I already paid tribute to my idol, Jim Morrison, on the anniversary of his passing a few months ago. A lot has been said about why this man was (and remains to be) legendary, and he will always be a true icon of music and literature, as a member of The Doors and as an individual.

Though he may have been taken from us so soon, Jim will always be with us in spirit, his music eternally spellbinding, his words perpetually speaking truths that we might not always believe or even simply recognize.

Today we celebrate what would have been his 73rd birthday, a day that gave us one of the most influential legends of the arts.

Happy birthday, Jim!
